Crack originally comes from the dry leaves of coca plants that are located in South America. This product is made by mixing the powder from the plants with baking soda, then breaking it into small pieces often called rocks. The reason it has the name crack is because when it is heated or smoked, it makes a crackling noise. One characteristic of crack is that it looks like either white or tan pellets. Another characteristic of this highly dangerous drug is that it is very addictive. After doing the drug, the high wears off very quickly and the user feels depressed and nervous and feels like he/she needs more of the drug to feel good again. Just one time doing this drug can get you highly addicted. It can even give you a heart attack or stroke that can kill you.
This drug can be used in a several of different ways. One way people use it is by inhaling it through their nose. They do this only when the drug is in a powder from which is the most common form you would find it in. Another way that people get this drug into them is they inject it into themselves while the drug is in a water form. Although crack is a very dangerous drug, it can also be used to help surgeons while doing some of their procedures. Although this drug is extremely limited for medical procedures, in some surgeries it is used as a pain killer. Something this drug does to help the surgeon is that it causes small arteries in the bodies to tighten. When the arteries are tightened, it reduces bleeding during the surgery.
This drug has several effects. Some of the short term effects include: dilated pupils, loss of appetite, increase of temperature, restlessness, and reduced fatigue. The duration of these affects all depend on how the drug is used. When you absorb the drug faster, the more intense high you get which is also a shorter high. There are also some long term effects that you might get if you do crack. One effect is that it produces an aggressive and paranoid behavior in its users. Another long term effect is when you are done smoking the cocaine, the users often feel depressed.
