Disneyland

Page history last edited by Disneyland 13 years, 6 months ago

[1]     In the year 1955,  Disneyland opened in Anaheim, California.Walt Disney owned and operated Disneyland. The Disney Company started out as Disney Bros. Studio in 1923. Then it changed to Walt Disney Productions, and finally it was renamed in 1986 to the name we all know it as, Walt Disney Company located in Burbanks California. The Park was based on Disney's cartoon characters from his television shows.

One of the interesting facts about Disney is that he forbids the serving of all alcoholic drinks, but he had a private suite in the park where he hired bartenders to serve alcoholic drinks to his personal guests.[2]Disneyland is a famous park built under Walt Disney's direct supervision. It is rare to have the designer be there when the building or park is being built. When he designed it, he installed[3] many themed parks within Disneyland. These parks consist of Main Street USA, Adventure LandFrontierland, Fantasy Land, Critter Country, New Orleans Square, Micky's Toontown, and Tomorrow Land. One of the small parks (Micky Mouse Park) includes various rides for example, four of Disney's studios, you get a chance to meet some of the Disney Characters, a feature boat ride, and other themed areas. Disney's parks are located almost everywhere in the world, including Florida, Japan, France, China, and on some select cruize-lines. The original plan of Disney land was strictly for the amusement of his employees. Then he discovered that children of employes wanted to visit. Disney discovered that this would be a perfect opportunity for his company to make money and entertain children. All of the productions came to a halt when WWII came upon the US, which gave Mr. Disney a chance to overview his productions and create some new plans for the park.

Great wiki article! I did a project on Walt Disney last year but I never learned a lot about Disney Land! It is so cool that there are Disney Lands in so many countries all over the world! Why did Walt Disney only want his employees to go to Disney Land at first?

That's so interesting about how he built it just for the enjoyment of his employes! I was wondering if it was modified afterwards to make it more "child friendly" since it was previously designed for his employes. Great job!

This artical taught more intresting things about disneyland. The only information i knew was that Walt Disney was the creater. I never knew anout the different parks and that there are other disneyland parks in Florida, Japan, France, China, and on some select cruize-lines. I also did not know that it was an alcohol free park but yeat he served it to his close guests.

The disneyland park was primarily to give his employers a break in their busy day and to entertain them
