Nikita Khrushchev was born in Kalinovka, Russia on April 17.1894. He joined the Communist party in 1918, where he enrolled in the Red Army to fight in the civil war. After serving for three years, Nikita he enrolled in the Donets Industrial Institute and graduated in 1925. In 1931, Khrushchev became secretary of a district party in Moscow. In 1938, Nikita became first secretary of the Ukraine Communist Party and was named to the Politiburo. During World War II, Khrushchev served in the Red Army in the Ukraine as well as southern areas in the former USSR. He was given the rank of lieutenant general.
Khrushchev was an influential leader in the Soviet Communist Party. In 1956 the day before the Twentieth congress of the communist party, Khrushchev gave a secret speech. This speech was about Stalin, the primer minister of the Soviet Union who died in 1953, three years before Khrushchev’s speech. After Stalin died, Khrushchev became the
secretary of the Communist party. On this speech, Khrushchev provided many details about how Stalin improperly abused his power to commit crimes. Stalin decided to purge the Soviet communist party by enforcing a warning; any person who disagreed, criticized or did anything against him will be accused of conspiring against the government and will be brought to trial, found guilty, and sent to prison or be executed. Basically he would eradicate all the rebels or those accused of being rebels. Stalin killed many innocent people. Khrushchev’s speech was sent to any person with rank and members of the Soviet Communist party, but never released to the Soviet press. But they released it to Eastern European countries and the United States also received a copy of the speech, but the reason for them receiving the copy was unknown. This speech caused many members of the communist party to give up the movement and causing many countries to go into political and economic crises. After the speech, all political prisoners were released from jail. Khrushchev

I found it interesting that Khrushchev, turned his back on his leader, telling him that how he was running the government was unfair and cruel. It seems like your really worked hard on both your research and wiki because it was well thought out and thorough. I was wondering what influenced Khrushchev to turn his back on his leader?
